Daniel Caffo Hardwood Flooring Inc. is a family-owned and operated business. In 1926, Daniel Caffo Sr. (Born 1901), found work hand-scraping wood floors. Using a couple of handmade scrapers, he managed to earn enough to support his family.
Daniel Caffo Jr. (Born 1926) started following his father to work when he was about eight years old. Working with his father throughout high school and after serving in WWII, they installed and refinished wood floors in homes all over Southeast Pennsylvania. In the 60's and 70's, Daniel Jr. traveled throughout the United States installing gymnasium floors in many schools and universities.
In 1977, Daniel Caffo III, joined Daniel Jr., and became the third generation of Caffos to work in the flooring business. Daniel Jr. and Daniel III enjoyed many years working side by side—it was the father teaching his son again. In 2005, 72 years after first picking up a scraper, Daniel Jr. retired at the age of 80. He claims to have refinished enough floors to cover the state of Delaware.
Today Daniel III, is proud to have his son Daniel Caffo IV working by his side. Father and son once again. Four generations, four Daniels, over 80 years in business and still going strong—truly amazing!
